Out of solidarity for life and for the efforts that are made every day to save lives, the Association of Maramureș Entrepreneurs started on December 1-10, 2019, the annual blood donation campaign.
Through this specific activity, AIM wants to encourage every citizen who wants to make a simple and human gesture, but vital for those in need.
Here are some good reasons to donate blood:
- Donating blood, you directly help a fellow person to be saved.
- The act of donation is extremely beneficial for the human body, the harvesting done at intervals recommended by doctors strengthens the body. According to scientific research, blood donors have a lower chance of suffering a myocardial infarction and strokes than non-donors.
- Going constantly at blood transfusion centers, you get medical check-ups and free specialized analysis, being able to constantly monitor your health.
The need for blood in Romanian hospitals is also highlighted by the medical specialists: “Blood is not manufactured in the laboratory and, if not donated by our fellows, we are powerless in front of our patients. It is a simple gesture, which does not harm our body, on the contrary, the blood is restored in a few days, quantitatively, and qualitatively up to a maximum of three weeks. The mass of blood that is lost is replaced by young elements so that our body does not suffer” says Dr. Doina Gosa, director of the Bucharest Blood Transfusion Center.
Following this campaign, AIM received numerous requests from members' representatives and their employees to participate in a new campaign phase, which will take place in the first part of 2020.
