We are facing an invisible enemy that can attack any of us. Without even knowing it, it’s possible that we may already be infected. In some cases, we will need medical care. Maybe, unfortunately, we could depend on medical equipment. And in this situation, there will be dozens, hundreds or maybe even thousands of fellow citizens from Maramureș.

To support the medical units and the medical staff in the county, several businessmen, AIM members, have joined forces, to help doctors to be prepared as soon as possible for the worst-case scenario. You can also join the initiative and lend a helping hand, donating 2 euros by SMS to the number 8837 with the text "MM".

172.500 lei have been collected so far from several companies in Maramures, each donating between 2.500 and 50.000 lei. In addition to these donations, the amount of 50.000 lei was allocated from the budget of the Association of Maramureș Entrepreneurs, thus managing to reach a total budget of 222.500 lei so far.

Some companies support the campaign through works performed for free or through the contribution of their employees. Thus, a construction company deals with the partial construction of the ATI section of the TBC hospital, another company, also in the field of construction, is committed to arranging the laboratory where the PCR device will be installed at the Hospital for Infectious Diseases and Psychiatry, and a company that realizes carpentry elements produced and mounted in record time, in less than 24 hours, 30 windows and 20 doors at the new ATI section dedicated to treating patients with COVID-19. Other companies have made available to the Association of Maramureș Entrepreneurs, for the entire period of the crisis, the contribution of some employees or even administrators.

With the sums collected, there will be purchased as soon as possible protective materials for medical personnel (masks, gloves, medical protective visor, robes, suits, disinfectants), but also test kits and a mechanical ventilation device. Only the ventilation device, much-needed for serious cases of COVID-19 infection costs about 130.000 lei, so the amount collected so far is not sufficient for the purchase of testers and protective equipment. Therefore, the Association of Maramureș Entrepreneurs calls on all the companies from Maramureș county, the ones that can contribute to any amount, in order to purchase all the necessary equipment for the county hospitals.

For the general public, a fundraising campaign was launched, where anyone can donate 2 euros through a simple SMS with the text "MM" at the number 8837. Just think about it: 2 euros, the equivalent of 9 lei, can make the difference between life and death.
